The Southwest Detention Center is located near Murrieta and Temecula, California. The facility, opened in 1993, is part of the Southwest County Justice Center, along with the Temecula Police Department and the Southwest Sheriff's Station.
The center also houses individuals sentenced to a term in a Riverside County jail, with separate units for men, women and juveniles.
Visits at the Southwest Detention Center are by appointment only. Call the jail at least the day before your requested visit day to schedule your appointment. Be aware that each housing unit has specific visitation hours and days, so find out where your loved one is assigned before setting up an appointment.
Inmates are allowed two visits on any day, with visits scheduled between 9am and 5pm. Check in is 10-30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the visit.
